Congratulations on our very own, Daryl Gochnauer, for becoming certified as a Magento Certified Solution Specialist this past Saturday!
If you’re unaware of what a certified Magento Solutions Specialist is, here’s how Magento defines the role (quoted directly from their site):
“A Magento Solution Specialist is an expert user of the Magento ecommerce platform. Drawing on a deep background in business and ecommerce, the Magento Solution Specialist can efficiently align business objectives with Magento functionality, optimize use of native features, and avoid unnecessary customization. Whether as a merchant, a manager, a consultant, or an analyst, the Magento Solution Specialist knows how to make the best use of Magento technology.”
With a certified Magento Solutions Specialist officially onboard, we look forward to supporting & growing your business with excellence now & into the future.
This past weekend we had the opportunity to travel to a mountainside cabin in Canaan Valley, West Virginia to work on future plans for Wex Marketing. 2013 has been excellent year for us–a year of facing big challenges, pushing our learning to new levels, and really hitting our stride. In the past four years, we have narrowed and refined the services we offer, creating our niche in the ever changing zone between marketing strategy and tech services. This year, after a series of successful projects, we have concluded that we are most in our element when we are working on ecommerce projects. The necessity of strategic thinking, technical competence, and measurement-based decision-making when building and growing online stores is both challenging and thrilling! So, having decided to focus our energies on ecommerce projects in the future, we headed to mountains to polish our plans and set new improvement goals.
When we arrived at the foot of our mountain in Canaan Valley, however, we found our way blocked by a formidable layer of snow on the road. Our little Stratus was simply not up to the climb, so we trekked our luggage pack-mule-style up the slippery path to our cabin (a free team-building expedition?) Despite the chilly start, it was a wonderful time of lengthy discussions, mile-long charts, massive amounts of coffee, hundreds of Post-It notes, and even a bit of relaxation.
We are excited to see what 2014 holds as we refine our vision and seek to serve our clients with new energy!
Life Story Photography–a photographer located near Reading, Pennsylvania–met with us this morning to take our new company photos. The owner, Jennifer Stork, is the sister of our president, John Weixler, so it was a relaxed, enjoyable session both in the studio and out in the field behind her house. We are thrilled with how the images turned out!
We often remind our clients of the importance of having high quality images on their websites, advertisements, and printed marketing materials. Having a strong, well-branded graphic design style, matched with a pertinent marketing message, is certainly important–but attractive images (especially product photos) is the cornerstone of building a customer-drawing brand.
We are once again a member of the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce! We were a Chamber member a few years ago, but let our membership lapse due to busyness. The Chamber is a wonderful organization that supports networking and camaraderie among business owners in Lebanon County. You can view our business listing here.
If you own a business in the Lebanon County area, you should definitely learn more about the Chamber of Commerce, its functions, and its benefits!
As for us, we love being a part of the local community. Nothing spurs the creative process like Central Pennsylvania’s rolling green farmland! Since we spend so much of our time in front of our computers, developing websites, designing logos, doing video production and the like–it is refreshing to leave the office and be surrounding by corn fields and cows!
This past Friday evening, all of us from the Wex Marketing team had the opportunity to attend a banquet for the website launch of our client, Friday Night Watch. As a ministry focused on connecting believers from around Lancaster County and beyond, the launching of this website was a step forward in their bigger vision of the expanding into a global reach. Our project with them included a variety of services, including both website and branding development, as well as Facebook and Twitter social media setup.
The banquet was held at Immanuel Christian Fellowship in Manheim, Pennsylvania, where Friday Night Watch currently holds their weekly gatherings. It was a wonderful evening of food and fellowship, including meeting the rest of the ministry team. Daryl and Nick were on stage with the ministry’s founder, Gene Martin, who got to push the button to take the website live to the world. Following the launch, we walked the audience through the pages and features of the site, while Gene gave some further input into the ministry’s vision.
We are grateful for the generosity of the Friday Night Watch leadership for letting us be a part of this exciting, digital ground-breaking ceremony!
Marketing in Lebanon PA is hard work.
Thank goodness our kind host family has given us the space to enjoy a wonderful meal in the middle of our work day! Since our President has returned from Lebanon (the country) to Lebanon (the county) we have not had an office. We miss our tangerine marketing headquarters in Myerstown, but we are enjoying working in the warmth of this lovely home just ten minutes south from Lebanon’s city center.
